
Curriculum Vitae of the Ambassador

Ambassador Muhammad Hassan is a career diplomat with a career spanning over 30 years. Born in Baltistan, Pakistan, in 1963, he joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1990.
Prior to his Ambassadorial assignment in Indonesia, Ambassador Muhammad Hassan was serving as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tunisia since August 2018.
He has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in various capacities, including as:-
-Joint Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, Islamabad;
-Director General (China &SCO Division), MOFA, Islamabad;
-Director General (East Asia & Pacific Division, MOFA, Islamabad;
-Director (Minister of State’s Office);
-Director (SAARC); and
-Deputy Chief of Protocol
He has also served in following Pakistan’s Missions abroad: –
-Ambassador of Pakistan to Tunisia (August 2018- November 2020);
- High Commissioner of Pakistan to Malta (Concurrent Accreditation) (November 2018-November 2020)
-Minister (Political) in Embassy of Pakistan, Washington D.C. (2011- 2015);
-Deputy Chief of Mission at Embassy of Pakistan, Beijing (2009- 2011);
-Counsellor (Political) at Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi (2004- 2006);
-First Secretary at Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, New York (2001-2004); and
-Third/Second Secretary in Embassy of Pakistan, Tehran from 1995-1998.
He holds University Degree in Pakistan Studies and speaks English, Farsi, Urdu, and Balti.
He is married to Mrs. Ruqia Hassan and has three daughters and two sons.
